DESCRIPTION: two large official framed photographs of the players from the North Adelaide Football Club who represented South Australia in 1948, as well as 1949
DATE: mid-1948, and mid-1949
CURRENT OWNER OF THE ITEMS: Alan Phillips
STORY/ABOUT: Ron Phillips, my paternal grandpa played football for North Adelaide, and was one was of the best in the SANFL, good enough obviously to have been chosen to represent South Australia 10 times in their State team.
In a football career that started in 1940 and ended in 1953 (with a few years out for WW2 service), he became known as one of the most versatile players in the league, as he was able to play in almost any position.
For the record the results of the games were:
1948: South Australia (89) was defeated by Victoria (96)
1949: South Australia (116) defeated Western Australia (108)
