It’s Teeny Tiny

Alona's baby bracelet

Stephen & Alona Phillips - December 1973

one of the few photos I have of me wearing it
taken in December 1973, me with my brother

DESCRIPTION: this is my tiny 10cm long gold baby’s bracelet, with a bluebird on the locket part. Though as you can see from the picture above, most of the colour on that has now worn off
DATE: mid-late 1973
CURRENT OWNER OF THE ITEM: Alona Tester (nee Phillips)
STORY/ABOUT:  This was a gift that was given to me by my grandma Evelyn Hannaford.
After checking with my mum (as sadly I don’t remember <grin>), she said it may have been for my first Christmas which is when the pic above might have been, or it may have just been a gift for me when I was a few months old.
While the exact details of when I was given it are lost over time, I do still have the bracelet as a memento.

    Oh… dearie me. This sure bring back lots of memories Alona. Of bracelets just like this, although without the blue bird, treasured… passed on… lost etc.

    Girls happen to be a very rare entity in my family and every single one receives a bracelet, from me, which satisfies and calms my soul. I’ve even been know to gift the baby girl of “passing friends” with a gold chain bracelet with a heart lock. {big smile from me}

    You were indeed a beautiful baby and about the same age as my only girl. That “car seat” sure brings back memories. Thanks for taking me for a joyous trip down “memory lane”.
